Introduction
Cloud adoption provides IT infrastructure cost savings and innovative opportunities for organizations. Cloud-based teams are constantly striving to optimize cost and improve reliability of workloads. AWS offers the Well-Architected Framework, a set of best practices and principles that will help cloud teams achieve their business goals. The framework has six pillars: Operational Excellence (Security, Reliability), Performance Efficiency, Cost Optimization, Sustainability, and Security.
This article will focus specifically on Operational Excellence and explain how it helps cloud teams build infrastructure, highly efficient workloads, and perform exceptional.
AWS SysOps training prepares users to manage, monitor, and maintain workloads within the cloud. Learn how AWS services can help professionals improve operations in the cloud, and contribute to Operational Excellence.

What is Operational Excellence?
You must be familiar with AWS Well-Architected Framework in order to understand Operational Excellence.
AWS Cloud requires that organizations follow a set a principles and best practices when building infrastructure and workloads. This helps to create a solid foundation and ensures that they achieve their business goals. This framework is a guide for creating a secure, reliable, and quickly scalable cloud architecture.
Cloud teams can perform the following three primary activities using the Operational Excellence pillar’s design principles.
Assist with the application development process
You can run workloads in the cloud, and you can monitor their performance
Get insights from performance metrics to plan for operational improvement.
Four categories are essential for operational excellence: Organization, Prepare and Operate. The cloud team sets goals and understands the different types of workloads in the Organization phase. The team creates processes to improve the performance of workloads during the Prepare phase. The cloud team should determine the expected results from workloads in the third phase, Operate. The team should be clear about the process, tools and metrics used to measure workloads’ outcomes.
The cloud team must also establish baseline metrics for workload performance to help them develop methods for improving operations. The team must also examine the processes used to monitor the workloads. The team must examine the processes to determine if they are meeting customer expectations and meeting business needs.
AWS SysOps Training – How can it help achieve operational excellence
Teams use many tools and AWS services in the Operate phase to monitor and report on the status of workloads. The team identifies and responds to operational events, both planned and unplanned. The team can generate alerts and check the health of their workloads and activities with the monitoring and logging tools.
The cloud team will be able to learn about the various services that can be used during the Operate phase through AWS SysOps Training. They will also learn how to use AWS services to increase the performance of cloud workloads. CloudWatch and CloudTrail are two tools that can generate workload insights.
What will you learn from the System Operations on AWS course?
Systems Operations on AWS is a course for professionals who have experience in operating systems maintenance and are familiar with networking protocols. The course is open to those with a background or knowledge in software development or system administration. It will help them advance their careers in cloud operations management.
This course will teach professionals how to install, secure and troubleshoot AWS services. They will learn about the best practices and tools available to support the operations function.
It is a 3-day course that is taught by AWS Authorized Instructors. There are labs available for hands-on learning. AWS authorized partner NetCom Learning offers this course in the U.S.A. and Canada. After completing the course you can take the SOA-01 exam. After passing the exam, you will be an AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate.
