Companies can apply in less than three weeks to participate in a new incubator program. This program provides free credits and other support to help build enterprise apps that are based on the Box content management platform.
Box offers cloud storage similar to Dropbox, OneDrive and Google Drive. It allows file sharing, collaboration, and enterprise content management. Additionally, it offers app development services like UI components and SDKs that can be used with the content platform.
Last week, the Box Platform Incubator program announced itself at the company’s BoxWorks 2016.
Box stated that the next great enterprise apps will be cloud-based, massively scalable, offer user experiences comparable to leading consumer apps, and meet compliance and security requirements of the enterprise. The Box Platform Incubator provides free services to support the development of these apps. AWS will offer free usage credit that can be used to select AWS services. AWS mentorship and Box-led marketing opportunities will also be available.
These mentorship and marketing opportunities will include mentions about the Box Platform digital marketing projects, such as blog posts and social media posts, and e-mail marketing campaigns. Participating companies will also have the opportunity to speak and brand at events and webinars that are focused on Box Platform. Another benefit for developers who work with Box or AWS is the opportunity to receive free or discounted training.
The incubator Web site states that six enterprise applications are needed to join the first cohort. They will work side-by-side Amazon Web Services and Box experts.
Companies can apply to join the incubator program beginning October 1.
