Techrepublic.com reports that CISSP was among the top five most in-demand IT certifications of 2013, with salaries ranging from $65,000 to $111,000. According to another source, CISSP was the second-most paid IT certification with an average salary of $103,299. Let’s talk about the CISSP in case you haven’t heard of it. It could be your next step in a rewarding career as an information security professional.
(ISC2) is a non-profit organization that focuses its efforts on certifying and educating information security professionals throughout their careers. Its certifications are the gold standard in information security. They have the history and experience to back their reputation as information security knowledge leaders.
The CISSP professional certification is for professionals. You must have at least five years of full-time security experience in one or more of the ten (ISC2) information security domains (CBK) to qualify for it. One year of professional experience is possible for those who have a four-year college or Master’s degree (in Information Security) and are not certified by another organization.
A 6-hour written exam will be required at a Pearson Vue training centre. Candidates must achieve a minimum score of 700 points from 1000 points to pass the exam. The exam contains 250 multiple-choice questions. There are 25 experimental questions that have not been graded.
